Overview
A staple of animal feed and industry
Corn, known as maize in the UK, is one of the largest crops in world trade. Most traded corn is yellow corn, used mainly as an energy source in animal feed and as a raw material for starch, sweeteners and ethanol.
The United States is a major exporter. US export corn is officially inspected and graded, and the US Grain Standards Act requires aflatoxin testing of export corn unless the contract waives it.
