Coffee & cocoa
Green coffee and cocoa beans for roasters, cocoa processors and chocolate makers.
Overview
Tropical crops, traded as beans
Coffee is traded as green coffee: the unroasted bean, which keeps far better than roasted coffee and is roasted close to where it is drunk. The two main species are arabica and robusta.
Cocoa is traded as fermented, dried cocoa beans. Processors grind them into cocoa liquor, then press that into cocoa butter and cocoa powder for chocolate and food manufacturers.
